Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) Authorizes Fee Sharing Between Lawyers/Licensed Paralegals

Lawyers/licensed paralegals may mistakenly believe they are not allowed to accept a referral fee. The LSUC authorizes lawyers/licensed paralegals to share fees on a case so long as the client approves of that fee sharing arrangement. We comply with all LSUC rules when entering into fee sharing arrangements, and we pay referral fees at prevailing rates.
